Mitacs: Enhanced leveraging for COVID-19 R&D — Limited time
Enhanced leveraging for COVID-19 R&D — Limited time
As the landscape around COVID-19 continues to change, our priority of supporting global public health remains steadfast. In response to the Government of Canada’s and provinces’ announcements of funding to quickly mobilize researchers and companies to combat COVID-19, Mitacs is making a number of short-term changes to our business operations.
For a limited time, small- and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) responding to federal and provincial requests can solve COVID-19 research and development challenges with academic expertise, enhanced leveraged funding, and one-to-one support from Mitacs.
Through Mitacs, you can access our Accelerate internships. They start at four months, with a modular model that allows for larger projects. For COVID-19-related work, your financial contribution may be eligible to start at $3,750, which turns into a $15,000 research award through our funding. In addition, your application will be given priority treatment to ensure a quick start to the project and in the hopes of meeting this extraordinary challenge to Canadians. Note that opportunities also exist for virtual interaction between participants.
Remote work during COVID-19
Mitacs is making a few short-term changes to our programs in light of these unprecedented circumstances. To cope with the spread of COVID-19, Mitacs is ready to waive the in-person industrial interaction during the crisis. Mitacs introduced temporary measures that allow remote interactions with partner companies for Mitacs-supported students and postdocs at this time.
