This week, H2i hosted Pitch Perfect, an annual pitch competition for University of Toronto-led health startups.

Created to provide pitch competition opportunities specifically for earlier stage startups emerging from U of T, the competition features six finalists and awards three $5,000 Student Innovation Fellowships.

This year’s finalists presented their innovation health solutions to a packed audience and expert judges Faizah BalogunLiz MunroLiam Kaufman and Dr. Yasaman Soudagar. Both Kaufman and Soudagar were once in the shoes of these finalists, as H2i alumni who led their ventures to high profile acquisitions and incredible health impact.

This year’s finalists showcased the teams’ impressive work-to-date, poised to make their mark in breast cancer detection, dental procedures, dialysis safety, diabetes management, tissue regeneration and skin-wound treatment.

Congratulations to all six finalists: AlloWide Health Inc. (presented by Poorya Saeedloo), ComfiDental Labs (Arshia Sabet), Her2Her (Tala Mehdi), NephroTech Inc. (Ria Khan), TechInu Inc. (Jasmine Jing) and VRiT Inc. (Sushant Singh).

After a difficult deliberation this year’s winners were announced…

Thank you to all of our finalists, to our judging panel and to everyone who came out to support the next generation of health innovation at U of T!

Pitch Perfect 2025 was generously supported by the Temerty Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto and City of Toronto’s Business Incubation & Commercialization Grant Program.
