Schwartz Reisman Fellowships
The Schwartz Reisman Institute for Technology and Society has announced their inaugural call for graduate student fellows and faculty fellows from around U of T. The Institute seeks fellows from all academic disciplines across the sciences, social sciences, and humanities who are conducting work on ensuring powerful new technologies like AI are effective, safe, ethical, and fair and interested in reconceptualizing notions of the ways technology, systems, and society interact.
Up to 15 U of T graduate students and four U of T faculty members will be appointed for a one-year term starting November 1, 2020. Graduate students will receive $7,500 and faculty $25,000 in research project support. Graduate fellows receive professional development mentoring and will co-develop a workshop with their cohort. Faculty fellows will participate in, plan, and lead activities at the Institute. All fellows will contribute to the Institute’s ongoing research agenda. Learn more here.
