What is Fireside at FemSTEM Africa?
Fireside at FemSTEM is an interactive conversation series held as part of the broader FemSTEM Africa event program.
Each session features a conversation with a distinguished woman working in the health entrepreneurship space. Speakers share reflections from their careers, lessons learned, and advice for founders building health ventures.
Audience members are encouraged to participate by submitting questions during the session!
FemSTEM Africa 2026 is co-designed and implemented by Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) and Health Innovation Hub (H2i) under the Africa Health Collaborative, in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation, and with legal partnership support from Sustineri Attorneys.
Meet the Speaker

Mary Asante-Asamoah is the Founder of Family Business Hub Ghana and Host of Family Business Diaries. With over 17 years of executive experience within her own family enterprise, she brings lived insight into succession, governance, and intergenerational leadership.
Mary is deeply embedded in Ghana’s corporate and industrial ecosystem. She is Vice Chair of the Affiliates Committee at the Ghana Chamber of Mines, a board member of the Ahaspora Professionals Network, and an active member of Women in Mining Ghana and the Executive Women’s Network.

Meet the Moderator

Dr. Princess Ruhama Acheampong is a Lecturer at the Department of Health Promotion and Disability Studies, School of Public Health, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Ghana. She is a dedicated public health researcher with expertise in maternal and child health and public health nutrition, and has a wealth of experience in both quantitative and qualitative research methodologies.
She serves as the International Liaison Officer of the Africa Health Collaborative and a member of the Health Entrepreneurship Pillar Advisory Committee, where she contributes to advancing innovation, partnerships, and capacity building in health systems across Africa. Dr. Acheampong is deeply passionate about mentoring females, particularly those from disadvantaged settings, and is committed to empowering the next generation of women leaders in health and research.
Fluent in English and French, she brings a strong global outlook to her work and actively engages in collaborative initiatives aimed at improving health outcomes for vulnerable populations.
