Dr. Pasternak has 30 years’ executive experience commercializing products and services in the CleanTech, Advanced Materials, and BioTech industries – specializing in chemistry or biology-based technologies. Since completing his Ph.D (biochemical engineering, Northwestern University) and MBA (finance/strategy, University of Toronto), he has led commercialization efforts in many industrial sectors including analytical instrumentations, therapeutics, pharmaceuticals, and medical devices. Most recently, Andrew served as Executive Director of GreenCentre Canada; a non-for-profit Commercialization Centre for chemistry-based products as well as President of Impact Chemistry, its for-profit spin-out company.

Key competencies that Andrew brings to H2i companies include developing customer-based commercialization/strategic partnerships, technology validation and scaling, governance (specific for smaller tech companies), public program funding, health & safety (key for lab operations), and intellectual property management.

Andrew is a certified Board Director having served on Boards of both for-profit and not-for profit organizations. He is also editor of the book “How to Commercialize Chemical Technologies for a Sustainable Future” (Wiley Publishing).
