Temerty Faculty of Medicine and Health Innovation Hub initiative to celebrate and support student innovations on health matters. Six groups will present their pitches. Three winners will be selected by a panel of invited judges and will be awarded $5000 each.
Meet Our Finalists:
- Arma Biosciences has developed a handheld, reagent-free testing device to help address anything from COVID-19 to monitoring long-term disease progression.
- Elaya Project brings together founders from within U of T’s own Faculty of Medicine looking to make long-term delivery of neuromuscular electrical stimulation therapy possible, preventing muscle wasting in ICU patients.
- ExVilent has stepped up to revolutionize the drug development process with their ex-vivo, humanized lung model, designed to provide clinically relevant testing support while reducing the need for animal testing.
- Health Bridge is looking to bridge gaps in the healthcare community and break down language barriers through their accessible, human-centered tool, making sure that those who need help the most won’t be left behind.
- Maveta Diagnostics is looking to create an affordable, ultra-sensitive diagnostic test for breast cancer that will make testing faster, more accurate, and more accessible, meaning more women will be able to catch things before it ever gets too late.
- PharmAssess Diagnostics has created a software platform to help over-burdened pharmacists assess common ailments, enabling them to provide the best patient care that they can.
