On November 12th, six impressive founders took to the stage to compete in Pitch Perfect 2024!
H2i’s Pitch Perfect Competition is an annual Temerty Faculty of Medicine sponsored initiative focused on celebrating and supporting student innovations on health matters. Created to provide pitch competition opportunities specifically for earlier stage startups, it features early-stage U of T student-led health ventures pitching for a chance to win one of three $5,000 Student Innovation Fellowships.

This year, six finalists were selected from a pool of thirty applications: A2O (presented by Justine Bajohr), Maman Biomedical (presented by Katya D’Costa), Neuropeutics (presented by Catherine Kirschner), PrehabRx (presented by Maggie Chen), SPARKED (presented by Stephanie Buryk-Iggers) and UrInsights (presented by Jonathan Wu).
Finalists presented their five-minute pitches to the 70 attendees and four expert judges: Allan F. Miranda (Johnson and Johnson Innovative Medicines), Dr. Mira Backo-Shannon (Ontario Health), Myrna Francis (Mfran Enterprises Inc.) and Ron Hurtig (Orthosium Inc.). Following each pitch, the judging panel had five minutes to ask questions.

The judges then had the difficult task of selecting three of the finalists as winners of the $5,000 Student Innovation Fellowships. After careful deliberation, the 2024 Pitch Perfect Winners were announced…

Congratulations to
A2O, SPARKED and UrInsights!
