As a new year begins and H2i forges on into its 2nd decade, the campus-linked accelerator is excited to unveil new vision and mission statements. While reflecting on the past decade of operations, the H2i team came together to measure the impact achieved to-date and what lays ahead. Our task: to imagine the ambitious, achievable possibilities of health innovation and examine how H2i can continue to collaboratively foster a flourishing entrepreneurial ecosystem.
Captured in these new statements is H2i’s belief in the tremendous potential for research translation and health innovation. Further, our enduring commitment to empower the mobilization of discoveries and ideas into sustainable, scalable solutions to macro-level problems across communities and healthcare systems in Toronto and globally.
The next decade of H2i will be driven and directed by the following vision and mission:
H2i Vision
A future where scientific and technological advancements, translated through entrepreneurship, lead to sustainable health solutions.
H2i Mission
To inspire, enable and empower aspiring and early-stage health entrepreneurs and to foster a sustainable ecosystem where innovative ideas generate significant and impactful health, societal and economic outcomes.
As part of H2i’s forward momentum into its second decade of operations, the team welcomed Sophie Stuart-Sheppard into the newly established portfolio of Strategic Communications Officer. This role was created to support H2i’s growing community, to expand strategic partnerships and collaborative activity, and to enhance the accelerator’s ability to advocate for, and tangibly advance, health innovation activity and the training supports that accelerate impact.
Sophie first joined the H2i team in 2021 and has since led communications, operations support, program delivery and organizational development in several capacities. She brings a wealth of expertise from her time with H2i, as well as insight from previous roles spanning health start-up, healthcare, academic and non-profit environments. Having completed a Master’s in Public Health, she looks to approach health innovation through a public health lens, examining how the collaborative translation of ideas can create lasting impacts to population health.
2025 is set to be a landmark year for H2i, with more new programming, entrepreneurial supports and partnered initiatives than any before. To the H2i community—we wish to extend our greatest gratitude and wish you all a fantastic year ahead, building health entrepreneurship together.
