Cove Neurosciences Wins Top Prize at OCI DiscoveryX

Congratulations to Cove Neurosciences, who was recently awarded top prize at the Ignite Innovation Startup Pitch Competition! Part of Ontario Centre of Innovation (OCI)’s annual DiscoveryX conference, the competition features top emerging startups who are turning big ideas into real-world impact.

Cove Neurosciences is developing cutting-edge neurotechnology to transform brain health diagnostics and treatment through precision EEG analytics and multimodal data integration. Founded by Temerty MD alumni Dr. Nardin Samuel and Dr. Irene Harmsen, Cove first joined H2i in 2022. The team has made remarkable progress in recent years, including big wins at events like H2i’s FemSTEM Pitch Competition, UofT Entrepreneurship’s Desjardins Startup Prize, and KITE UHN’s ICAIR Power Play Pitch Competition. Gaining increasing traction, earlier this year, Cove’s innovative work was featured in the Toronto Star.

Of the win, Co-Founder and CEO Dr. Samuel shared, “Pitching at OCI Discovery X was an incredible experience — the energy in the room and the caliber of innovators present made it truly memorable. Winning this award is a huge milestone for us at Cove Neurosciences Inc. It validates the importance of our mission and will allow us to accelerate product development and expand clinical partnerships.”
