Dentistry startup Mesosil gets FDA clearance

Mesosil has secured U.S. FDA 510(k) clearance for an antimicrobial biomaterial designed to prevent infection and extend the lifespan of dental restorations. With $2.3 million raised and a growing team, the company is now focused on scaling production and building industry partnerships to support wider adoption of infection-resistant dental materials.

TalkToMedi improving patient access and raises pre-seed round

TalkToMedi has closed its pre-seed round led by Comma Capital to address one of healthcare’s most overlooked challenges: how patients access care. Built by a team of University of Toronto master’s students and engineers, the company has developed an AI agent that handles, triages, and responds to patient requests in real time, ensuring every interaction is captured, prioritized, and routed appropriately. The technology targets a common breakdown at clinic front desks, where demand spikes, phone lines jam, and urgent requests often go unanswered. Already deployed in real clinical environments, TalkToMedi has signed 50 clinics, processed over 40,000 patient calls, and achieved a 93% success rate in resolving inquiries without manual intervention. The company is now evolving its platform into a broader system for patient access, connecting fragmented administrative workflows into a more continuous and reliable care experience.
