Join H2i on February 21st, 2024 as we sit down with special guest, Dr. Mira Backo-Shannon!

What is Fireside at FemSTEM?

Fireside at FemSTEM is an interactive conversation series held each winter as part of H2i’s broader FemSTEM programming. 

During each Fireside, we sit down and chat with one incredible speaker. Speakers are distinguished women within the health entrepreneurship space and are joined by members of the H2i and UTE community as moderators. This Fireside will be moderated by H2i Mentor Dr. Soror Sharifpoor.

Audience members are able to submit questions via chat to be posed by the moderator. A 15-minute open networking session enabling audience members to mingle with our speaker and moderator will close out each event. 

Meet the Speaker:

Dr. Mira Backo-Shannon is a visionary leader, who drives system change through innovation. Currently serving as Vice-President, Clinical Programs and Innovation at Ontario Health, Mira is also a practicing family physician and is an award- winning educator. She is an Assistant Clinical Professor at McMaster University, and Lecturer at the University of Toronto. Mira’s passion lies in the creation of integrated care systems founded in the modernization of primary care. She has held leadership roles at Halton Healthcare Services and Trillium Health Partners. She also hold a research fellowship in Health Learning Systems with the Institute for Better Health.
