Nov 1, 2016 – Cofounder – Advocan Law LLP – we represent technology companies and family office investors and donors. We have grown to three lawyers, focused on IT and medical device/life science companies in Canada and the USA.

Jan 1 2006 – Nov 1, 2016: General Counsel – BlueCat Networks (enterprise software company founded and controlled by Michael and Richard Hyatt until its sale to PE firm Madison Dearborn).

1997 – 2006: General Counsel (and partner) XDL Capital, a Toronto based venture capital firm focused on information technology investments.

David is currently a board member of CAF Canada, Inc., and is an advisor to the Hyatt Family Foundation. He is a graduate of the University of Toronto Faculty of Law.
