Orthosium

There are approximately 1.4 million lower body injuries and surgeries a year in Canada many of which require a restriction on the weight being applied.  Depending on the type of injury, patients are prescribed a weight-bearing protocol where the amount of weight applied on the injury increases over time. Studies have shown that over 70% of patients are non-complaint resulting in prolonged recovery and in some cases revision surgery. Our Castoff PodTracker system uses biofeedback to train the patient to follow the prescribed protocol. Patients are alerted on their smartphone and a device residing on the injured leg. All data is saved and sent to the clinicians to review the progress and ensure proper recovery.
