Primetel
Primetel is a dynamic social enterprise in Arusha, Tanzania committed to re-imagining access to health services in rural areas of Tanzania using its Unstructured Supplementary Service Data (USSD) application. Presently, Primetel streamlines access to mental and primary care services in rural areas through a hybrid model: in-person and remote health consultation services. Primetel’s USSD application comes in an easy-to-engage interphase presented in both English and local dialects (Kiswahili), making it possible for individuals to utilize it. By dialing 14949*22# individuals gain access to remote health support from a competent team without needing a smartphone or internet connection. The main objective behind Primetel’s existence is to peddle Tanzania’s health sector towards Universal Health Coverage (UHC) by providing competent, affordable, and accessible health services across Tanzania’s most remote areas. Equally, Primetel aims to amplify access to mental health services by at least 40% by 2030. Lastly, Primetel seeks to champion its objective of integrating technology to streamline consultative and diagnostic health services in rural areas of Tanzania.
